CS-318 Computer Applications forýHealth Care Professionals
This course provides an overview of computer technology and hands-on study of computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access or equivalent, Google Docs, Web Page creation, etc) for healthcare professionals. Topics include a brief introduction to the history of computers, computer hardware and software systems covering CPU, memory, storage, input/output devices, operating systems, networking, databases, data mining, the Internet and WWW, information assurance and security, cloud computing, introduction to nursing informatics as well as the social impact of computer technologies. Each class will include lecture and project practice; and focus on computer applications in healthcare industries.
