MATH-332 History of Mathematics

This course is an examination of the development of mathematics. Themes include comparative mathematical systems; the origin of whole, rational, irrational, complex, and transfinite numbers; the evolution of geometry, number theory, algebra, calculus, probability theory; and modern innovations such as chaos theory.
