MGT-420 Business Dimensions of Healthcare

This course is designed for health care professionals who are continuing their education and for students who are otherwise planning to pursue a career in health care. The course focuses on introductory business theory, principles, and practices as they relate to the health care industry including leadership, motivation, communication, decision-making, budgeting, and other issued peculiar to the health care industry. Students will be introduced to the economic forces that shape today’s health care delivery system. The course provides a framework for understanding health care as a business system. The course also consists of a series of application exercises designed to equip students with a basic understanding of business management practices.
