NURS-396 Compassionate Care End of Life
This course will provide an in-depth understanding of the role of the nurse in end of life (EOL) and palliative care. It provides the student with advanced knowledge and skills to effectively meet the needs of individuals who are experiencing chronic or terminal illnesses. Discussions will address the influence of biological, psychological, spiritual, cultural, and religious needs of dying patients and their families. The dying process will be explored as a life transition. Students will evaluate the efficacy of palliative care interventions and how these affect the body. Participants will design a resilience plan for use now and in their future nursing practice.
