Honors Program Curriculum
Scholars completing all Honors Program requirements (30 credits, 90 service hours, meetings, events) will be awarded the Distinguished Honors Scholar certificate. Scholars must complete their degree with a minimum overall GPA of 3.2 and complete the required honors courses.
Required Courses (18 credits)
Year 1 (Second semester) Theme 1: Respect for Humanity
- Mentorship Seminar (3 credits)
- 10 Services hours
Year 2 Theme II: Compassion
- Civic Engagement/Peer Tutoring Seminar (3 credits)
- 20 Services hours
Year 3 Theme III: Transformation
- Servant Leadership: 10 Characteristic of Franciscan Servant Leadership Seminar (3 credits)
- Research & Portfolio Part 1 (3 credits)
- 25 Service hours
Year 4 Theme IV: Solidarity with People in Need
- Community Service: Local & Global Seminar (3 credits)
- Final Research and Portfolio Presentation Symposium 3 (3 credits)
- 35 Service Hours
*Students will receive a certificate for completing each seminar (badging each on their transcript)
All third- and fourth-year Honors students will attend and/or present at the National Honors Conference in the Spring semester.
