NUTR-101 Introduction to Nutrition
This course provides an overview of the scientific principles of human nutrition and their application to health and disease prevention. Students examine the roles of macronutrients and micronutrients, digestion and metabolism, energy balance, and dietary guidelines. The course emphasizes evaluating nutrition information, understanding food labels, and applying evidence-based nutrition principles to personal and public health decisions. Topics also include nutrition across the life cycle, food safety, and current nutrition issues.
