These nursing mentoring seminars provide a consistent, progressive mentoring experience for students in the Baccalaureate Nursing Program. Each seminar is grounded in the framework of mentoring as a key component of successful professional nursing socialization and development. Core nursing concepts will build on this foundation and will be introduced in each seminar including: self-awareness, career choice, inherent nursing values, critical reasoning and critical decision making, professionalism, critical thinking, quality and safety, mentoring relationships, globalization/cultural competence, evidence-based practice, health and health promotion, communication, ethical comportment, program requirements, and clinical readiness. These concepts will be explored in a safe setting that will utilize the mentoring relationship, and interactive learning strategies to socialize students into the nursing program and profession ,
