OTA-100 Intro to Occupational Therapy

This course is an introduction to the field of Occupational Therapy, including its history, philosophy, theoretical models, frames of reference, process, and varying roles within contemporary healthcare. Students will learn methods of acquiring scholarly information such as library resources, bibliographic searches, and utilization of professional publications. Students will examine the relationship between technological, sociopolitical, and environmental factors on community and global health, develop an understanding of a variety of traditional and emerging community practice areas in the field, and learn how to effectively engage in collaboration with other healthcare members. Students will identify and apply the Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics and supervision requirements.
