Degree Requirements
The Health and Wellness concentration is designed for students interested in promoting healthy lifestyles and improving quality of life through physical and mental well-being. This interdisciplinary program combines principles from biology, health promotion, fitness, nutrition, and psychology to equip students with the tools to assess individual and community wellness needs, design effective wellness programs, and advocate for healthier lifestyles.
Learning outcomes:
- Investigate the structure and function of the human body
- Prescribe exercise to improve the five components of health-related physical fitness
- Identify basic nutritional needs and dietary guidelines
- Examine the role of lifestyle behaviors in disease prevention and management.
- Promote healthy behavior throughout the lifespan
