ABA-510 Capstone II: Applied Research and Analysis

This course is the second phase of the graduate thesis sequence in the Behavior and Autism Studies program and builds directly on the proposal developed in Capstone I. Students will apply their previously developed research proposal by implementing their approved study, collecting and graphing data, and engaging in ongoing visual analysis to guide data-based decision making. Emphasis is placed on maintaining procedural fidelity, monitoring interobserver agreement, and making methodologically sound decisions regarding phase changes during the course of the study.

Based on the collected data, students will produce the Results and Discussion sections of their manuscript. The Results section must include clear, accurate data presentation (e.g., graphs) and objective descriptions of patterns observed in the data. The Discussion section must interpret the findings in relation to the research question(s), address study limitations, and describe implications for practice and future research.

This course is delivered in an asynchronous format with required individual meetings with the instructor to review data, support decision making, and ensure alignment between implementation, analysis, and written outcomes. Successful completion of the course results in a finalized thesis manuscript that reflects the full research process.
