NURS-425 Role Development/Leader/Mgt
Through the use of an interdisciplinary model, this course provides a theoretical knowledge base for preparing an individual to function in a leadership role and/or management role. The student gains a basic understanding of organizational theory and behavior, role theory, and management models which are integral to professional practice. Emphasis is placed on decision making strategies and the application of power and influence as critical processes underlying leadership strategies. A clinical practicum is used to analyze leader-ship/management theories and aid the student in developing the knowledge and skills for effective leadership and management.
