HS-475 Global Climate Change & Human Health
This course explores the complex relationship between global climate change and human health through a public health lens. Students will examine the health impacts of extreme heat, air pollution, vector-borne disease, mental health stressors, food insecurity, and climate-related displacement. Emphasizing environmental justice, resilience, and adaptation strategies, the course integrates open- access multimedia resources in place of a traditional textbook. Through interactive assignments-such as podcasts, video reflections, infographics, and interviews- students will connect global challenges to local realities and build actionable knowledge to inform community health solutions.
