OTA-225 Documentation for the OTA

This course teaches students the critical skills of documenatation. Students are provided experiences in documentation from a simple contact note, screening or referral to evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries. This course provides guidelines about reimbursement systems, including ethical and legal requirements related to occupational therapy. Students are exposed to electronic documentation, the business aspects of management, and the ability to document the rationale for OT services. Documentation will not be limited to charting, but also interaction with people, groups, and populations to justify treatment interventions.
