OTA-230 Human Movement for Occupation
This course will educate students in body structures and functions of the neuromusculoskeletal system in relation to the occupation-based performance skills needed for individuals. Students will learn to safely and effectively use evidence-based knowledge to promote client's health and wellness, and occupational performance. During lab students will demonstrate competencies in the utilization of methods and tools for goniometry, manual muscle testing, grip and pinch strength, and sensation testing. Students will also engage in techniques to enhance functional mobility, wheelchair management, and ergonomic strategies. Students will develop the professional skills used to effectively communicate with intra- and interdisciplinary personnel, persons, groups, and populations
