OTA-250 Assistive Technology

Students will learn about high- and low-tech adaptive equipment, devices, and interventions to promote occupational-based performance skills in persons, groups or populations. Students will continue to build upon clinical reasoning skills, competencies, and evidence-based knowledge to select, identify and provide ethical rationale for equipment choices. Students will determine the role of the OT/OTA when providing solutions, intervention plans, and/or resources to promote function in various environmental contexts,   ncluding in the community and homes. Throughout the course, students will develop professional and effective communication skills during engagement in intra- and interprofessional interactions and collaboration in the community.
